Last Saturday, my dear friend Cynthia treated four of us to a belated birthday celebration at Amante Restaurant, located at 123 E 9th St, Los Angeles, CA 90015. This Italian restaurant embodies the essence of Italy in every way. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and we were fortunate to be served by Francesco Silla, who was exceptional. He had extensive knowledge of wine and food, and his recommendations were top-notch. We were also delighted to meet the Italian singer and actor Jonas Sills, whose powerful voice could be heard throughout the restaurant. He visited our table several times, and even graciously allowed me to film him. Master Chef Fernando also made sure we were enjoying our meal, which was another highlight of the evening. Having recently visited Italy, I can confidently say that not many Italian restaurants outside of Italy capture the authentic experience—but at Amante, I felt like I was back in Italy.
